तद् दृष्टवा व्रीडितो राजन् स मुनि: पादयोर्गत: । नान्यद् देवात् परं मेने रुद्रात् परतरं महत्,महाराज! यह अद्भुत बात देखकर मुनि लज्जित हो महादेवजीके चरणोंमें पड़ गये और उन्होंने दूसरे किसी देवताको महादेवजीसे बढ़कर नहीं माननेका निश्चय किया
tad dṛṣṭvā vrīḍito rājan sa muniḥ pādayor gataḥ | nānyad devāt paraṃ mene rudrāt parataraṃ mahat ||
മഹാരാജാവേ! ആ അത്ഭുതം കണ്ട മുനി ലജ്ജയിൽ മുങ്ങി മഹാദേവന്റെ പാദങ്ങളിൽ വീണു. അന്നുമുതൽ മഹത്തായ രുദ്രനേക്കാൾ ഉയർന്ന മറ്റൊരു ദേവതയില്ലെന്ന് അവൻ ദൃഢമായി നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.
