नारद उवाच
As a colophon, the verse primarily teaches textual discipline: it formally closes a chapter and preserves the epic’s structure, reminding readers that dharma is conveyed through carefully ordered narration and authoritative transmission.
The narrator marks the completion of the fifty-fourth chapter within the Nalopākhyāna section of Vana Parva, specifically the portion centered on the Indra–Nārada dialogue, indicating a transition to the next chapter or topic.
