Lokapāla-samāgamaḥ—Arjuna Receives Astras from the World-Guardians
Book 3, Chapter 42
अर्जुनने कहा--मातले! आप जल्दी चलिये। अपने इस उत्तम रथपर पहले आप चढ़िये। यह सैकड़ों राजसूय और अश्वमेधयज्ञोंद्वारा भी अत्यन्त दुर्लभ है ।।
Arjuna uvāca—Mātale, tvaṁ kṣipraṁ yāhi. asmin rathottame pūrvaṁ tvam eva samāroha. eṣa hi rathaḥ śataśo rājasūyāśvamedhaiś ca atyanta-durlabhaḥ. pārthivaiḥ su-mahā-bhāgaiḥ yajvabhiḥ bhūri-dakṣiṇaiḥ devataiḥ vā samāroḍhuṁ dānavaiḥ vā rathottamam.
അർജുനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മാതലി, വേഗം പോകുക; ആദ്യം നീ ഈ ഉത്തമ രഥത്തിൽ കയറുക. നൂറുകണക്കിന് രാജസൂയ-അശ്വമേധ യാഗഫലങ്ങളാലും ഇത് അത്യന്തം ദുർലഭമാണ്. ധാരാളം ദക്ഷിണ നൽകുന്ന, മഹാഭാഗ്യശാലി, യാഗനിഷ്ഠ രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കുപോലും—അഥവാ ദേവന്മാർക്കും ദാനവന്മാർക്കും പോലും—ഈ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ രഥത്തിൽ കയറുക ദുഷ്കരമാണ്.
