स सूतो भार्यया सार्थ विम्मयोत्फुल्ललोचन: । अड्कमारोप्य तं बालं भारया वचनमब्रवीत्,उसे देखकर पत्नीसहित सूतके नेत्रकमल आश्चर्य एवं प्रसन्नतासे खिल उठे। उसने बालकको गोदमें लेकर अपनी पत्नीसे कहा--
sa sūto bhāryayā sārthaṁ vismayotphullalocanaḥ | aṅkam āropya taṁ bālaṁ bhāryāyā vacanam abravīt ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആ കുഞ്ഞിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഭാര്യയോടുകൂടിയ സൂതന്റെ താമരപോലെയുള്ള കണ്ണുകൾ അത്ഭുതവും ആനന്ദവും കൊണ്ട് വിരിഞ്ഞു. അവൻ ബാലനെ മടിയിൽ എടുത്തുവെച്ച് ഭാര്യയോട് പറഞ്ഞു।
