ṛṣaya ūcuḥ: nimajjamānaṃ vyasanair abhidrutaṃ kula-narendrasya tamo-maye hṛde | tvayā suśīla-vrata-puṇyayā kulaṃ samuddhṛtaṃ sādhvi punaḥ kulīnayā ||

Educational Q&A

A family or kingdom overwhelmed by misfortune can be restored through steadfast virtue—especially the disciplined, vow-grounded integrity (vrata) and moral strength of a pativrata, whose conduct becomes a force of protection and renewal for the lineage.

The sages praise a noble, chaste woman for rescuing the royal family: the dynastic king, crushed by calamities and inner darkness, was ‘sinking,’ but through her good character, vows, and merit she restored the family’s standing and hope.
