श्रुत्वा शब्दं तु यं कज्चिदुन्मुखा सुतशड्कया । सावित्रीसहितो<भ्येति सत्यवानित्यभाषताम्,जो कोई भी शब्द कानमें पड़ता, उसीको सुनकर वे अपने पुत्रके आनेकी आशंकासे उत्सुक हो उठते और परस्पर कहने लगते कि “सावित्रीके साथ सत्यवान् आ रहा है!
śrutvā śabdaṃ tu yaṃ kaścid unmukhāḥ sutaśaṅkayā | sāvitrīsahito ’bhyeti satyavān iti cābhāṣatām ||
ഏതെങ്കിലും ശബ്ദം കേട്ടാൽ മകനെത്തിയെന്ന ആശങ്കയോടെ അവർ ഉടൻ തല ഉയർത്തി നോക്കും; പിന്നെ പരസ്പരം—“സാവിത്രിയോടുകൂടെ സത്യവാൻ വരുന്നു!” എന്നു പറയും.
