स सर्वनाश्रमान्‌ गत्वा शैब्यया सह भार्यया । पुत्रहेतो: परामार्ति जगाम भरतर्षभ,भरतश्रेष्ठ] वे अपनी पत्नी शैब्याके साथ सभी आश्रमोंमें जाकर पुत्रका पता लगाने लगे। उस समय उन्हें सत्यवानके लिये बड़ी वेदना हो रही थी

sa sarvān āśramān gatvā śaibyayā saha bhāryayā | putra-hetoḥ parām ārtiṁ jagāma bharatarṣabha ||

ഹേ ഭരതവൃഷഭാ! അദ്ദേഹം ഭാര്യ ശൈബ്യയോടുകൂടെ എല്ലാ ആശ്രമങ്ങളിലേക്കും പോയി പുത്രനെ തേടി; സത്യവാനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ദുഃഖം മൂലം അദ്ദേഹം അത്യന്തം വേദനയിൽ ആഴ്ന്നു.
