Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadiness and practical awareness: even after strain or distress, one regains composure, attends to the body, surveys the situation, and focuses on the next necessary task—an ethical model of self-control and readiness.

In Markandeya’s narration of the Savitri–Satyavan episode, Satyavan rises, wipes himself, looks in all directions, and then looks toward the fruit basket—indicating a return to ordinary action and attention to their immediate needs in the forest setting.
