रावणिस्तु यदा नैनं विशेषयति सायकै: । ततो गुरुतरं यत्नमातिष्ठद् बलिनां वर:,बलवानोंमें श्रेष्ठ रावणकुमार इन्द्रजित् जब बाण-वर्षा करनेमें लक्ष्मणसे आगे न बढ़ सका, तब उसने गुरुतर प्रयत्न आरम्भ किया
rāvaṇis tu yadā nainaṃ viśeṣayati sāyakaiḥ | tato gurutaraṃ yatnam ātiṣṭhad balināṃ varaḥ ||
ബലവാന്മാരിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ രാവണപുത്രൻ ഇന്ദ്രജിത് അമ്പുവർഷം കൊണ്ടുപോലും അവനിൽ പ്രത്യേക മേൽക്കൈ നേടാൻ കഴിയാതിരുന്നപ്പോൾ, അവൻ അതിലും ഗുരുതരമായ ശ്രമം ആരംഭിച്ചു.
