Educational Q&A

The verse frames anger as morally charged when it arises from witnessing adharma—here, the violation and humiliation of Draupadī. It highlights a kṣatriya-ethical response: righteous indignation should culminate in the protection of honor and the punishment of wrongdoing, not in aimless fury.

After hearing that Draupadī has been outraged, the Pāṇḍavas are already furious. When they directly see Jayadratha and Draupadī seated on his chariot, their wrath intensifies sharply, setting the stage for confrontation and the recovery of Draupadī.
