युधिछिर उवाच भद्रे प्रतिक्राम नियच्छ वाचं मास्मत्सकाशे परुषाण्यवोच: । राजानो वा यदि वा राजपूुत्रा बलेन मत्ता वउ्चनां प्राप्रुवन्ति
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | bhadre pratikrāma niyaccha vācaṃ māsmat-sakāśe paruṣāṇy avocaḥ | rājāno vā yadi vā rāja-putrā balena mattā vacanāni prāpnuvanti ||
യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “ഭദ്രേ, പിന്മാറുക; വാക്ക് നിയന്ത്രിക്കുക. ഞങ്ങളുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ദ്രൗപദിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇങ്ങനെ കഠിനവും അനുചിതവുമായ വാക്കുകൾ പറയരുത്. ബലമദത്തിൽ ഇത്തരമൊരു നിന്ദ്യകൃത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവർ—രാജാക്കളായാലും രാജപുത്രന്മാരായാലും—നിശ്ചയം പ്രാണവും മാനവും നഷ്ടപ്പെടും.”
