त्वप्प्रतिज्ञां प्रतीक्ष॑स्तु सहतेडयं वृकोदर: । ये शक्तिशाली भीमसेन युद्धमें समस्त कौरवोंको नष्ट कर देनेका उत्साह रखते हैं, परंतु आपकी प्रतिज्ञा-पूर्तिकी प्रतीक्षा करमेके कारण अबतक शत्रुओंके अपराधको सहन करते हैं
tvap-pratijñāṁ pratīkṣas tu sahate ’yaṁ vṛkodaraḥ |
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— നിന്റെ പ്രതിജ്ഞ പൂർത്തിയാകുന്നതിനെ കാത്തതിനാലാണ് ഈ വൃക്കോദരൻ (ഭീമൻ) ശത്രുക്കളുടെ അപരാധങ്ങൾ സഹിക്കുന്നത്. അവൻ സമർത്ഥനായിട്ടും യുദ്ധത്തിൽ സർവ്വ കൗരവരെയും നശിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ഉത്സാഹം ഉള്ളവൻ; എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ വചനമര്യാദയ്ക്കായി തന്റെ ക്രോധം അടക്കുന്നു.
