बहुव्यालमृगाकीर्ण त्यक्तुं द्वैतववनं वनम्‌ । इस प्रकार चिन्तासे घिरे हुए महात्मा युधिष्ठिरके मनमें यह विचार उत्पन्न हुआ कि “अनेक प्रकारके सर्पों तथा मृगोंसे भरे हुए इस द्वैतववनको छोड़कर हम कहीं अन्यत्र चले चलें"

bahu-vyāla-mṛgākīrṇaṁ tyaktuṁ dvaita-vanaṁ vanam |

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ചിന്തകളാൽ മൂടപ്പെട്ട മനസ്സോടെ മഹാത്മാവ് യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ ഇങ്ങനെ നിശ്ചയിച്ചു—“പലവിധ സർപ്പങ്ങളും മൃഗങ്ങളും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ദ്വൈതവനം വിട്ട് നാം മറ്റെവിടെയെങ്കിലും പോകാം.”
