Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Sacrifice Commences and the Pandavas’ Reply to the Invitation
अनाय>्जछिसतेत्येतांक्षित्रसेनो5त्यमर्षण: | यह सुनकर गन्धर्वराज चित्रसेनको बड़ा अमर्ष हुआ। उन्होंने कौरवोंको लक्ष्य करके समस्त गन्धर्वोको आज्ञा दी, “अरे! इन दुष्टोंका दमन करो”
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: anājñacchīṣate ity etāṃ citraseno ’tyamarṣaṇaḥ | etac chrutvā gandharvarājaḥ citrasenaḥ mahān amarṣaḥ samapadyata; sa kauravān uddiśya sarvān gandharvān ājñāpayām āsa—“are, etān duṣṭān damayata” iti |
‘ഇവൻ ആജ്ഞ അനുസരിക്കുന്നില്ല’ എന്ന വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ, അപമാനം സഹിക്കാത്ത ഗന്ധർവ്വരാജാവ് ചിത്രസേനൻ മഹാക്രോധത്തിൽ ആകപ്പെട്ടു. കൗരവരെ ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി അദ്ദേഹം എല്ലാ ഗന്ധർവ്വന്മാർക്കും ആജ്ഞ നൽകി—“ഈ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ ദമിപ്പിൻ; ഇവരെ വശപ്പെടുത്തിൻ।”
