चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः
Citrasena and the Kaurava engagement
विनिहत्य तम: सूर्य यथेहाभ्युदितं तथा । उस समय इन सबसे घिरे हुए अग्निनन्दन कार्तिकेय देवताओंद्वारा अभिषिक्त हो भाँति-भाँतिकी क्रीडाएँ करते हुए बड़ी शोभा पा रहे थे। देवताओंने सेनापति पदपर अभिषिक्त हुए कुमार महासेनको इस प्रकार देखा, मानो सूर्यदेव अन्धकारका नाश करके उदित हुए हों

മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇവിടെ സൂര്യൻ അന്ധകാരം നശിപ്പിച്ച് ഉദിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, അന്നേരം ദേവന്മാർ ചുറ്റിനിന്ന അഗ്നിനന്ദനനായ കുമാര കാർത്തികേയൻ ദേവന്മാരാൽ തന്നെ സേനാപതി പദവിയിൽ അഭിഷിക്തനായി, നാനാവിധ ദിവ്യക്രീഡകളിൽ രമിച്ച് പരമശോഭയോടെ പ്രകാശിച്ചു. അഭിഷിക്തനായ കുമാര മഹാസേനനെ ദേവന്മാർ കണ്ടത്, അന്ധകാരം അകറ്റി സൂര്യൻ ഉദിച്ചതുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.
