चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः

अभिषिच्यस्व देवानां सैनापत्ये महाबल । इन्द्रने कहा--महाबलवान्‌ स्कन्द! मैं तुम्हारे कहनेसे इन्द्र-पदपर प्रतिष्ठित रहूँगा। यदि वास्तवमें तुम मेरी आज्ञाका पालन करना चाहते हो, यदि तुमने यह निश्चित बात कही है, अथवा यदि तुम्हारा यह कथन सत्य है तो मेरी यह बात सुनो--महावीर! तुम देवताओंके सेनापतिके पदपर अपना अभिषेक करा लो

Transliteration

abhiṣicyasva devānāṃ saināpatye mahābala |

Translation

ഇന്ദ്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മഹാബലവാനേ! ദേവസേനയുടെ സേനാപതി പദവിയിൽ നീ അഭിഷിക്തനാകുക. നീ സത്യമായി എന്റെ ആജ്ഞ പാലിക്കുവാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, നിന്റെ നിശ്ചയം ദൃഢവും സത്യവും ആണെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ തീരുമാനം കേൾക്കുക—നീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാൻ ഇന്ദ്രപദത്തിൽ സ്ഥാപിതനായി ഇരിക്കും; നീ ദേവസേനാപതി പദവിയുടെ അഭിഷേകം സ്വീകരിക്ക. അങ്ങനെ മത്സരവും വൈരവും ഉണ്ടാകില്ല; ബലവും ഗുണവും പൊതുഹിതത്തിന് ഏറ്റവും യോജിക്കുന്നിടത്ത് ധർമ്മം നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെടും.
