Skanda’s Consecration as Devasenāpati
स तु पृष्टस्तदा देवैस्तत: कारणमत्रवीत् । प्रत्यगृह्लंस्तु देवाश्न॒ तद् वचो5ड्रिरसस्तदा,देवताओंके पूछनेपर अंगिराने उन्हें कारण बताया और देवताओंने अंगिराके उस कथनपर विश्वास करके उसे यथार्थ माना
sa tu pṛṣṭas tadā devais tataḥ kāraṇam atravīt | pratyagṛhlan tu devāś ca tad vaco ’ṅgirasas tadā ||
ദേവന്മാർ ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ കാരണം പറഞ്ഞു; അപ്പോൾ ദേവന്മാർ അങ്ങിരസിന്റെ വാക്കിനെ സത്യമെന്നു സ്വീകരിച്ചു.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of truthful explanation and the role of trustworthy authority: when a competent sage gives a reasoned account, the gods themselves accept it as valid, underscoring that dharma is supported by truthful speech and sound understanding.
In Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration, the gods question Aṅgiras about the cause of a matter; Aṅgiras explains it, and the gods accept his words as accurate and authoritative.
