मातापितृपूजन-प्रधानधर्मः (Primacy of Filial Service) — Mārkaṇḍeya’s Account of the Vyādha’s Instruction
दद्यां वित्तं द्विजाग्रयेभ्य: शत्रूणां चापि दुर्जय: । सख्यं च विष्णुना मे स्याद् भूतेष्वद्रोह एव च,“देवताओं! मैं श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मणोंको धन दान करूँ, शत्रुओंके लिये दुर्जय बना रहूँ, भगवान् विष्णुके साथ सख्य भावसे मेरा प्रेम हो और किसी भी प्राणीके प्रति मेरे मनमें द्रोह न रह जाय
dadyāṁ vittaṁ dvijāgrebhyaḥ śatrūṇāṁ cāpi durjayaḥ | sakhyaṁ ca viṣṇunā me syād bhūteṣv adroha eva ca ||
മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ദ്വിജന്മാർക്ക് ഞാൻ ധനം ദാനം ചെയ്യട്ടെ; ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു ഞാൻ അജേയനായിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഭഗവാൻ വിഷ്ണുവിനോടു എനിക്കു സഖ്യവും സ്നേഹപൂർണ്ണമായ ആത്മീയ അടുപ്പവും ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; സർവ്വ ജീവികളോടും എനിക്കുള്ളത് അദ്രോഹം മാത്രമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.”
