अध्याय १९० — वामदेव-वाम्य-वृत्तान्तः

The Vāmadeva Horses Episode and the Ethics of Promise

यतय: शान्तिपरमा यतात्मानो बुभुत्सव:,मामेव सतत विद्राश्चिन्तयन्त उपासते । शान्तिपरायण, संयमी, जिज्ञासु, काम-क्रोध-द्वेघपहित आसक्तिशून्य, निष्पाप, सात्विक, नित्य अहंकारशून्य तथा अध्यात्मज्ञानकुशल यति एवं ब्राह्मण सदा मेरा ही चिन्तन करते हुए उपासना करते हैं

yatayaḥ śāntiparamā yatātmāno bubhutsavaḥ | mām eva satataṃ vidrāś cintayanta upāsate ||

ദേവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ശാന്തിയെയാണ് പരമലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിയ യതികൾ, ആത്മസംയമികൾ, തത്ത്വജ്ഞാനത്തെ തേടുന്നവർ—അവർ ജ്ഞാനികൾ സദാ എന്നെയേ ധ്യാനിച്ച് എന്നെയേ ഉപാസിക്കുന്നു.
