Educational Q&A

Even amid political crisis, proper honor (pūjā) to a virtuous guest and reverence for dharma are presented as essential royal duties; Dhṛtarāṣṭra frames his intended action through Vidura’s dharma-aware witness.

In the Udyoga Parva’s diplomacy setting, Dhṛtarāṣṭra addresses Vidura and announces that he will honor Śrī Kṛṣṇa with formal worship, asking Vidura to listen as he describes the arrangements in Vidura’s presence.
