Dhṛtarāṣṭra Addressed on Sincerity, Hospitality, and Settlement

dhūḥśāsanasya ca gṛhaṃ duryodhana-gṛhād varam | tad adya kriyatāṃ kṣipraṃ su-sammṛṣṭam alaṅkṛtam ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how attention to external grandeur and swift logistical arrangements can coexist with moral blindness. It implicitly contrasts surface-level propriety (cleaning and decorating a mansion) with the neglected duty of resolving injustice through dharma.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra issues an instruction to prepare Duḥśāsana’s superior residence immediately—cleaned and decorated—indicating arrangements for receiving or hosting important persons amid the tense political developments leading toward war.
