Udyoga Parva 63: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel Reminding Duryodhana of Opponent Strength
उस जालमें दो ऐसे पक्षी फँस गये, जो सदा साथ-साथ उड़ने और विचरनेवाले थे। वे दोनों पक्षी उस समय उस जालको लेकर आकाशमें उड़ चले ।।
tau vihāyasam ākrāntau dṛṣṭvā vai śākuniḥ tadā | anvadhāvad anirviṇṇo yena yena sama gacchataḥ ||
ഒരേ വലയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയ, എപ്പോഴും കൂട്ടായി പറക്കുന്ന ആ രണ്ടു പക്ഷികൾ ആ വല തന്നെ ചുമന്ന് ആകാശത്തിലേക്ക് പറന്നു. അവരെ ആകാശത്ത് പറക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടിട്ടും പക്ഷിവേട്ടക്കാരൻ മനസ്സുതളർന്നില്ല; അവർ എവിടെയെവിടെയായി ഒരുമിച്ച് പോയോ, അവിടെയവിടെയായി അവൻ നിരുത്സാഹമില്ലാതെ പിന്നാലെ ഓടിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
