Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 55 — Sañjaya’s Report on Pāṇḍava Readiness and Arjuna’s Dhvaja

सर्वा दिशो योजनमात्रमन्तरं स तिर्यगूर्ध्व च रुरोध वै ध्वज: । न सज्जते5सौ तरुभि: संवृतो5पि तथा हि माया विहिता भौमनेन,उस ध्वजने एक योजनतक सम्पूर्ण दिशाओं तथा अगल-बगल एवं ऊपरके अवकाशको व्याप्त कर रखा था। विश्वकर्माने ऐसी माया रच रखी है कि वह ध्वज वृक्षोंसे आवृत अथवा अवरुद्ध होनेपर भी कहीं अटकता नहीं है

saṃjayā uvāca | sarvā diśo yojanamātram antaraṃ sa tiryag ūrdhva ca rurodha vai dhvajaḥ | na sajjate 'sau tarubhiḥ saṃvṛto 'pi tathā hi māyā vihitā bhaumanena ||

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ആ ധ്വജം ഒരു യോജനമാത്രം എല്ലാ ദിക്കുകളിലും, വശങ്ങളിലേക്കും മേലോട്ടും വ്യാപിച്ച് ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ആകാശത്തെ തന്നെ തടഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തോന്നി. എങ്കിലും വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റിയാലും അത് എവിടെയും കുടുങ്ങിയില്ല— ഭൗമൻ (വിശ്വകർമ്മൻ) ഒരുക്കിയ മായ അങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു.
