सेनाग्रगं दंशितं भीमसेनं स्वालक्षणं वीरहणं परेषाम् | घ्नन्तं चमूमन्तकसंनिकाशं तदा स्मर्ता वचनस्थातिमानी
saṅjaya uvāca | senāgra-gaṁ daṁśitaṁ bhīmasenaṁ svalakṣaṇaṁ vīrahaṇaṁ pareṣām | ghnantaṁ camūm antaka-sannikāśaṁ tadā smartā vacanasthātimānī ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കവചധാരിയായ ഭീമസേനൻ സേനയുടെ അഗ്രഭാഗത്ത് മഹാവേഗത്തോടെ പാഞ്ഞുചെന്നു—സ്വലക്ഷണങ്ങളാൽ തിരിച്ചറിയപ്പെടുന്നവനായിട്ടും ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു ദുഷ്കരമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവനായി—അവരുടെ വീരന്മാരെ വധിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, അന്തകനെപ്പോലെ പ്രതിപക്ഷസേനയെ സംഹരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ, അത്യന്തം അഹങ്കാരിയായ ദുര്യോധനൻ എന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകൾ ഓർക്കും।
