अमात्यलाभो १द्रं ते द्वितीयं बलमुच्यते । तृतीयं धनलाभं॑ तु बलमाहुर्मनीषिण:
amātyalābho 'dyaṁ te dvitīyaṁ balam ucyate | tṛtīyaṁ dhanalābhaṁ tu balam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ ||
വിദുരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ രാജാവേ! യോഗ്യരായ അമാത്യരെ നേടുന്നതാണ് നിനക്കുള്ള ആദ്യ ബലം; രണ്ടാമത്തേത് (സൈനിക) ശക്തിയെന്ന് പറയുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനികൾ ധനലാഭത്തെ മൂന്നാം ബലമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നു.
