अध्याय २९ — वासुदेव–संजय संवादः
Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and the Ethics of Governance
ये चैवान्ये कुरुमुख्या युवान: पुत्रा: पौत्रा भ्रातरश्वैव ये नः । यं यमेषां मन्यसे येन योग्यं तत् तत् प्रोच्यानामयं सूत वाच्या:
ye caivānye kurumukhyā yuvānaḥ putrāḥ pautrā bhrātaraś caiva ye naḥ | yaṃ yam eṣāṃ manyase yena yogyaṃ tat tat procya nāmayaṃ sūta vācyāḥ ||
യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സഞ്ജയാ! ഇവരെ കൂടാതെ കുരുകുലത്തിലെ മറ്റു പ്രധാന യുവാക്കൾ—നമ്മുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ, പൗത്രന്മാർ, സഹോദരന്മാർപോലെ ഉള്ളവർ—അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനോടും ഏതു രീതിയിൽ സംസാരിക്കണം എന്ന് നീ യോജ്യമെന്നു കരുതുന്നുവോ, അതുപോലെ തന്നെ സംസാരിക്കണം. ഹേ സൂതാ! എല്ലാവർക്കും ‘പാണ്ഡവർ കുശലവും ആനന്ദവും ഉള്ളവരാണ്’ എന്ന് അറിയിക്കണം।
