ते समासाद्य मां रौद्रा बहुधा मर्मभेदिन: । अकम्पयन् महावेगा: सर्पानलविषोपमा:,वे नाना प्रकारके भयंकर बाण मुझपर चोट करके मेरे मर्मस्थानोंका भेदन करने लगे। उनका वेग महान् था। वे सर्प, अग्नि और विषके समान जान पड़ते थे। उन्होंने मुझे कम्पित कर दिया
te samāsādya māṁ raudrā bahudhā marmabhedinaḥ | akampayan mahāvegāḥ sarpānalaviṣopamāḥ ||
ആ ക്രൂരമായ അസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി, പലവട്ടം എന്റെ മർമ്മസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ തുളച്ചുകയറാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അവയുടെ വേഗം മഹത്തായിരുന്നു; അവ പാമ്പും അഗ്നിയും വിഷവും പോലെയായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ പ്രഹരത്തിൽ എന്റെ ശരീരം വിറച്ചു.
