एष विक्रान्तयोधी च चित्रयोधी च सड़रे । वीतभीश्वापि ते राजन् शत्रुभि: सह योत्स्यते
eṣa vikrāntayodhī ca citrayodhī ca saṅgare | vītabhīś cāpi te rājan śatrubhiḥ saha yotsyate ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇവൻ സമരത്തിൽ വിക്രാന്തയോദ്ധാവും, വിചിത്രമായ വൈദഗ്ധ്യത്തോടെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നവനും ആണ്. രാജാവേ! ഭയമില്ലാതെ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു കൂടി പോരാടും.
