संजय उवाच
The verse frames key ethical failures—ingratitude (kṛtaghna), habitual hostility (vaira), and corrupt judgment (durmati)—as traits that stain not only the individual but also the reputation of the lineage (kulapāṃsana). It underscores how adharma is recognized through character and conduct, especially in political conflict.
Sañjaya instructs Ulūka, identified as deceitful, to go as a messenger and convey a pointed, condemnatory message to Suyodhana (Duryodhana). The tone signals escalating hostility and the breakdown of conciliatory diplomacy in the lead-up to war.
