भीष्मद्रोणयोर्दुर्योधनं प्रति शमोपदेशः | Bhīṣma and Droṇa’s Counsel of Conciliation to Duryodhana
नमो धर्माय महते धर्मो धारयति प्रजा: । एतद् धनंजयो वाच्यो नित्योद्युक्तो वृकोदर:
namo dharmāya mahate dharmo dhārayati prajāḥ | etad dhanaṃjayo vācyo nityodyukto vṛkodaraḥ ||
ഞാൻ ആ മഹാധർമ്മത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു; ധർമ്മം തന്നെയാണ് സർവ്വപ്രജകളെയും ധരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ സന്ദേശം ധനഞ്ജയനായ അർജുനനോടും, നിത്യോദ്യുക്തനായ വൃകോദരൻ ഭീമനോടും അറിയിക്കൂ—ക്ഷത്രാണി പുത്രനെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നത് ഏതു ലക്ഷ്യത്തിനായോ, അതിനുള്ള യുക്തകാലം എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ശ്രേഷ്ഠർ വൈരം ഉറച്ചാൽ ഉത്സാഹം കൈവിടുകയില്ല.
