വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹരിവംശപാരായണം സമാപിച്ചാൽ ആയിരം ബ്രാഹ്മണർക്കു ഭോജനം നൽകുകയും, സ്വർണ്ണനിഷ്കസഹിതമായ ഒരു പശുവിനെ ഒരു ബ്രാഹ്മണനു ദാനമായി സമർപ്പിക്കുകയും വേണം. ഇത് പുണ്യപ്രദമായ ദാനധർമ്മമാണ്; പവിത്രവിദ്യയെ ആദരിക്കുകയും ബ്രാഹ്മണസമൂഹത്തെ പോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
