teṣāṃ śrāddhāni deyāni śrutvā bhārata bhāratam | brāhmaṇebhyo yathāśaktyā bhaktyā ca bharatarṣabha ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ഭാരതവംശജനേ! ഈ ഭാരതകഥ ശ്രവിച്ച ശേഷം, അവർക്കായി ശ്രാദ്ധകർമ്മങ്ങൾ നടത്തണം; ഹേ ഭരതശ്രേഷ്ഠാ, തന്റെ ശേഷിയനുസരിച്ച് ബ്രാഹ്മണർക്കു ഭക്തിയോടെ ദാനം നൽകണം।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse links hearing the Bhārata narrative with ethical action: one should honor the departed through śrāddha and support worthy recipients (Brāhmaṇas) with gifts given within one’s means, performed with devotion rather than display.
Vaiśaṃpāyana addresses a Bharata-descended listener, prescribing a concluding religious-ethical response to the heard account: perform śrāddha for those concerned and give offerings to Brāhmaṇas according to capacity, emphasizing bhakti.
