Strī Parva, Adhyāya 2 — Vidura’s Consolation on Kāla, Karma, and the Limits of Lamentation (विदुरोपदेशः)
सर्वे स्वाध्यायवन्तो हि सर्वे च चरितव्रता: । सर्वे चाभिमुखा: क्षीणास्तत्र का परिदेवना
sarve svādhyāyavanto hi sarve ca caritavratāḥ | sarve cābhimukhāḥ kṣīṇās tatra kā paridevanā ||
അവർ എല്ലാവരും വേദസ്വാധ്യായത്തിൽ നിഷ്ഠയുള്ളവർ; എല്ലാവരും വ്രത-നിയമങ്ങൾ പാലിച്ചവർ. ശത്രുവിനെ നേരിട്ട് ഏറ്റുമുട്ടി യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ജീവൻ ത്യജിച്ചവരാണ് അവർ; അപ്പോൾ വിലാപത്തിന് എന്ത് കാരണം?
