भीष्म उवाच ससहायो<सहायो वा राष्ट्रमागम्य भूमिप: । ब्रूयादहं वो राजेति रक्षिष्यामि च व: सदा

bhīṣma uvāca: sa-sahāyo ’sahāyo vā rāṣṭram āgamya bhūmipaḥ | brūyād ahaṃ vo rājeti rakṣiṣyāmi ca vaḥ sadā ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—രാജാവേ! കൂട്ടാളികളോടെയായാലും ഒറ്റയ്ക്കായാലും, ഏതു രാജ്യത്തെ അധീനപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവോ, അതിലേക്ക് ചെന്നു അവിടത്തെ ജനങ്ങളോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറയണം—‘ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവാണ്; ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കും.’
