सम्यक्‌ प्रणयतो दण्डं भूमिपस्य विशाम्पते । युक्तस्य वा नास्त्यधर्मो धर्म एव हि शाश्वत:

Transliteration

samyak praṇayato daṇḍaṃ bhūmipasya viśāmpate | yuktasya vā nāsty adharmo dharma eva hi śāśvataḥ ||

Translation

ഹേ ജനാധിപതേ! രാജാവ് ദണ്ഡം ശരിയായി, യുക്തമായ അളവിൽ പ്രയോഗിച്ചാൽ അതിൽ അധർമ്മമില്ല; നീതിയോട് ചേർന്ന് നിയന്ത്രിതമായ ദണ്ഡം തന്നെയാണ് ശാശ്വതധർമ്മം.
