Educational Q&A

The verse cues a reflection on vīrya (power/valor): greatness is acknowledged, but in the Shānti-parvan’s ethical frame, power must be evaluated by dharma—how it is used and what consequences it brings.

Vāsudeva continues the discourse by introducing (or transitioning to) an account involving an eminent Bhṛgu figure and the famed king Kārtavīrya, preparing the listener for a discussion of Kārtavīrya’s prowess and its moral implications.
