असज्तिरनाकाडुशक्षी नित्यमुछछशिलाशन: । सर्वभूतहिते युक्त एष विप्रो भुजड्रम
asaṅgatir anākāṅkṣī nityam ucchiṣṭa-śilāśanaḥ | sarva-bhūta-hite yukta eṣa vipro bhujaṅgama-nāgarāja ||
സൂര്യൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ നാഗരാജാ! ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ അസക്തനും ആഗ്രഹരഹിതനും ആയിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹം നിത്യം ഉഞ്ഛവൃത്തിയിലും ശിലവൃത്തിയിലും ലഭിക്കുന്ന അന്നമേ കഴിച്ചു. സർവ്വഭൂതഹിതത്തിൽ നിരന്തരം നിയുക്തനായ ഈ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ തന്നെയാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ ആദർശം.
