Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the verse does not add new doctrine; it frames the teaching context: liberation-oriented dharma (mokṣa-dharma) is presented alongside devotion and theological praise of Nārāyaṇa, implying that knowledge of dharma and the path to release are integrated with reverence for the supreme divine principle.

The speaker-marker and closing formula indicate the end of a chapter within the Śānti Parva’s Mokṣa-dharma section, specifically the Nārāyaṇīya portion. It functions as an editorial/narrative closure rather than an event within the story.
