नारद–शुक संवादः

Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga

अज्ञानत: कर्मयोनिं भजन्ते तां तां राज॑स्ते तथा यान्त्यभावम्‌ । तथा वर्णा ज्ञानहीना: पतन्‍्ते घोरादज्ञानात्‌ प्राकृतं योनिजालम्‌,राजन! मनुष्य अज्ञानके कारण ही कर्मानुष्ठानसे भिन्न-भिन्न योनियोंमें जन्म लेते और मरते हैं। ज्ञानहीन मनुष्य ही अपने भयंकर अज्ञानके कारण नाना प्रकारकी प्राकृत योनियोंमें गिरते हैं

ajñānataḥ karmayoniṁ bhajante tāṁ tāṁ rājās te tathā yānty abhāvam | tathā varṇā jñānahīnāḥ patanti ghorād ajñānāt prākṛtaṁ yonijālam, rājan |

രാജാവേ! അജ്ഞാനത്താൽ മനുഷ്യർ കർമ്മയോനിയെ ആശ്രയിച്ച്—ഇതോ അതോ അവസ്ഥയിൽ ജനിച്ച്—അതുപോലെ വീണ്ടും നാശത്തിലേക്ക് പോകുന്നു. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ, ജ്ഞാനരഹിതർ ഭയങ്കരമായ അജ്ഞാനത്താൽ പലവിധ പ്രാകൃത യോനികളുടെ വലയത്തിലേക്ക് വീഴുന്നു.
