Śukasya Janma-yoga-phalaṁ — Vyāsasya Tapasā Putrārthaḥ (Śānti-parva 310)
अज्ञानात् परिपृच्छामि त्वं हि ज्ञानमयो निधि: । तदहं श्रोतुमिच्छामि सर्वमेतदसंशयम्,मैं इन बातोंको नहीं जानता, इसलिये पूछ रहा हूँ। आप ज्ञानके भण्डार हैं, इसलिये आपहीसे इन सब विषयोंको सुननेकी इच्छा हो रही है; जिससे सारा संदेह दूर हो जाय
ajñānāt paripṛcchāmi tvaṁ hi jñānamayo nidhiḥ | tad ahaṁ śrotum icchāmi sarvam etad asaṁśayam ||
അജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ജ്ഞാനനിധിയാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇതെല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖേന സംശയമില്ലാതെ കേൾക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാസംശയങ്ങളും നീങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്.
