Śukasya Janma-yoga-phalaṁ — Vyāsasya Tapasā Putrārthaḥ (Śānti-parva 310)

श्रोत्र, त्वचा, नेत्र, जिह्ला और पाँचवीं नासिका--इसे छठा सर्ग बताया गया है। यह बहुचिन्तात्मक सर्ग माना गया है

śrotraṃ, tvacā, netre, jihvā ca pañcamī nāsikā—eṣa ṣaṣṭhaḥ sargaḥ kathitaḥ. eṣa bahu-cintātmakaḥ sargaḥ mataḥ.

യാജ്ഞവൽക്ക്യൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കർണം, ത്വക്ക്, കണ്ണുകൾ, നാവ്, അഞ്ചാമതായി നാസിക—ഇവയെ ‘ആറാം സർഗം’ എന്നു പറയുന്നു. ഇത് പലവിധ ചിന്തകൾ ഉളവാക്കുന്ന സർഗമായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.
