Śānti-parva Adhyāya 3: Karṇa’s training under Rāma Jāmadagnya and the Bhārgava restriction on the Brahmāstra
तमुवाच भृगुश्रेष्ठ; सरोष: प्रदहन्निव । भूमौ निपतितं दीनं वेपमानं कृताञउ्जलिम्
tam uvāca bhṛguśreṣṭhaḥ saroṣaḥ pradahann iva | bhūmau nipatitaṃ dīnaṃ vepamānaṃ kṛtāñjalim ||
ഇത് കേട്ട് ഭൃഗുശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ (പരശുരാമൻ) ക്രോധത്തിൽ ജ്വലിച്ചു—അവനെ ചുട്ടെരിക്കുമെന്നപോലെ. മറുവശത്ത് കർണ്ണൻ കൈകൂപ്പി ദീനമായി വിറച്ച് നിലത്തേക്ക് വീണു. അപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—
