कपिलगोसंवादे गृहस्थ-त्यागधर्मयोः प्रमाण्यविचारः

किसी समय माता-पिता उनको छोड़कर उड़ गये। अब वे बच्चे कभी आकर फिर चले जाते और जाकर फिर चले आते थे, इस प्रकार वे सदा आने-जाने लगे। उस समयतक जाजलि मुनि हिले-डुले नहीं ।।
tathā te divasaṃ cāpi gatvā sāyaṃ punar nṛpa | upāvartanta tatraiva nivāsārthaṃ śakuntakāḥ ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—നരേശ്വരാ! ആ ചെറുപക്ഷികൾ പകലൊട്ടാകെ ആഹാരം തേടി പറന്നുപോയി, സന്ധ്യയായാൽ അതേ സ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ താമസാർഥം മടങ്ങിവരുമായിരുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ വരവ്-പോക്ക് സ്ഥിരക്രമമായി; ജാജലി മുനി അചലനായി, ധൈര്യത്തോടെ അവിടെയേ നിലകൊണ്ടു.
