तामधर्मभयादू भीतां पुनरेव प्रयाचतीम् । तदाब्रवीद् देवदेवो निगृहोदं वचस्तत:,अधर्मके भयसे डरकर पुनः कृपाकी भीख माँगती हुई मृत्युको रोककर देवाधिदेव ब्रह्माने उससे यह बात कही--
tām adharmabhayād bhītāṃ punar eva prayācatīm | tadābravīd devadevo nigṛhya idaṃ vacas tataḥ ||
അധർമ്മഭയത്തിൽ വിറച്ച് വീണ്ടും കൃപ യാചിച്ച മൃത്യുവിനെ തടഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട്, ദേവദേവനായ ബ്രഹ്മാവ് അപ്പോൾ ഇങ്ങനെ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
पितामह उवाच
Even inevitable cosmic forces must operate within dharma. When an action risks becoming adharma, higher discernment and restraint are required; righteousness is presented as the governing principle over power.
A frightened petitioner again begs, fearing adharma. At that moment the supreme deity (identified in the given context as Brahmā) restrains Death and begins to address the situation, signaling a corrective intervention to preserve moral order.
