यथार्चिषो5ग्ने: पवनस्य वेगो मरीचयोड3र्कस्य नदीषु चाप: । गच्छन्ति चायान्ति च संचरन्त्य- स्तद्वच्छरीराणि शरीरिणां तु,जैसे अग्निकी शिखाएँ, वायुका वेग, सूर्यकी किरणें और नदियोंका बहता हुआ जल-- ये सदा आते-जाते रहते हैं, इसी प्रकार देहधारियोंके शरीर भी आवागमनके प्रवाहमें पड़े हुए हैं

bhīṣma uvāca | yathārcīṣo 'gneḥ pavanasyā vegā marīcayo 'rkasya nadīṣu cāpaḥ | gacchanti cāyānti ca sañcarantyas tadvac charīrāṇi śarīriṇāṃ tu ||

അഗ്നിയുടെ ജ്വാലകൾ, കാറ്റിന്റെ വേഗം, സൂര്യകിരണങ്ങൾ, നദികളിലെ ഒഴുകുന്ന ജലം—ഇവ എല്ലാം എപ്പോഴും വരികയും പോകികയും ചലിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ, ദേഹധാരികളുടെ ശരീരങ്ങളും നിരന്തരം ഗമനാഗമനത്തിന്റെ പ്രവാഹത്തിൽപ്പെട്ടവയാണ്.
