Adhyāya 159 — Dāna–Dakṣiṇā, Āpaddharma Measures, and Prāyaścitta Classifications
कुर्वते च बहून् मार्गास्तान् हेतुबलमाश्रिता: । सतां मार्गान् विलुम्पन्ति लोभाज्ञानेषु निष्ठिता:,युक्तिबलका आश्रय लेकर बहुत-से असत् मार्ग खड़े कर देते हैं तथा लोभ और अज्ञानमें स्थित हो सत्पुरुषोंके स्थापित किये हुए मार्गों (धर्ममर्यादाओं) का नाश करने लगते हैं
kurvate ca bahūn mārgāṁs tān hetu-balam āśritāḥ | satāṁ mārgān vilumpanti lobhājñāneṣu niṣṭhitāḥ ||
കപടയുക്തിയുടെ ബലം ആശ്രയിച്ച് ആളുകൾ അനവധി അസത്പഥങ്ങൾ നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ ലോഭത്തിലും അജ്ഞാനത്തിലും നിലകൊണ്ട് സജ്ജനർ സ്ഥാപിച്ച വഴികൾ—ധർമ്മമര്യാദകൾ—കവർന്നു നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങുന്നു।
