Satya-lakṣaṇa (The Characteristics and Forms of Truth) | सत्यलक्षणम्
यच्च किंचिदिह प्राणी चेष्टते शाल्मले भुवि । सर्वत्र भगवान् वायुश्नेष्टाप्राणकर: प्रभु:,शाल्मले! प्राणी इस पृथ्वीपर जो कुछ भी चेष्टा करता है, उस चेष्टाकी शक्ति तथा जीवन देनेवाले सर्वत्र सामर्थ्यशाली भगवान् वायु ही हैं
yacca kiñcid iha prāṇī ceṣṭate śālmale bhuvi | sarvatra bhagavān vāyuḥ ceṣṭā-prāṇa-karaḥ prabhuḥ ||
നാരദൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ശാല്മലീ! ഈ ഭൂമിയിൽ ജീവികൾ എന്തെല്ലാം പ്രവർത്തനചേഷ്ടകൾ ചെയ്താലും, എല്ലായിടത്തും ആ ചേഷ്ടയ്ക്ക് ശക്തി നൽകുകയും പ്രാണം നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സർവ്വശക്തനായ പ്രഭു വായുവുതന്നെയാണ്.

Nārada addresses Śālmali and explains a doctrinal point: whatever any creature does on earth is empowered by Vāyu, who functions everywhere as the giver of both the impulse/ability to act and the life-breath itself.
