अध्याय १५२: लोभः पापस्य मूलम् — Greed as the Root of Wrongdoing
न चोपलभ्यते तेन न चाश्चर्याणि कुर्वते । निर्विण्णात्मा परोक्षो वा धिक्कृतः पूर्वसाधुषु
na copalabhyate tena na cāścaryāṇi kurvate | nirviṇṇātmā parokṣo vā dhik-kṛtaḥ pūrva-sādhuṣu ||
പൂർവ്വകാലത്തെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ സദ്ജനന്മാരോടു വിരക്തനായി, അവരുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിപഥത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അകലെ നിൽക്കുകയും, അവരുടെ കൈയ്യാൽ ആവർത്തിച്ച് നിന്ദിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് യഥാർത്ഥ ജ്ഞാനം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല; അത്തരക്കാരനെ കണ്ടു മറ്റുള്ളവരും അതിശയമോ ആദരമോ കാണിക്കുകയുമില്ല।
