Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
एतद् वै सर्वकृत्यानां परं कृत्यं परंतप । नैतस्य कश्रिद् वक्तास्ति श्रोता वापि सुदुर्लभ:,परंतप पितामह! यह कार्य समस्त कार्याँमें श्रेष्ठ है। सत्यप्रतिज्ञ जितेन्द्रिय शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मके सिवा, दूसरा कोई इस विषयको बतानेवाला नहीं है। इसको सुननेवाला भी दुर्लभ ही है। अतः: महाभाग! आप उसका अनुसंधान करके यह सारा विषय मुझसे कहिये
etad vai sarvakṛtyānāṃ paraṃ kṛtyaṃ parantapa | naitasya kaścid vaktāsti śrotā vāpi sudurlabhaḥ ||
യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു— പരന്തപാ! എല്ലാ കർത്തവ്യങ്ങളിലും ഇതാണ് പരമ കർത്തവ്യം. ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് പറയാൻ വക്താവിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുക പ്രയാസം; കേൾക്കാൻ യോഗ്യനായ ശ്രോതാവും അത്യന്തം ദുർലഭൻ. അതിനാൽ പിതാമഹാ, ഇതിനെ സമഗ്രമായി അന്വേഷിച്ച് മുഴുവൻ കാര്യവും എനിക്ക് പറഞ്ഞുതരുക.
