शत्रुनगरीपर विजय पानेवाले वीर! तुमने भी तो महान्‌ ऐश्वर्य प्राप्त किया है? तुम्हारे समस्त भाई, मित्र और सम्बन्धी सदा तुम्हारी सेवामें उपस्थित रहते हैं ।। आच्छादयसि प्रावारानश्नासि पिशितौदनम्‌ | आजानेया वहन्त्यश्वा: केनासि हरिण: कृश:,तुम अच्छे-अच्छे वस्त्र ओढ़ते-पहनते हो, पिशितौदन खाते हो और “आजानेय' अश्व (अरबी घोड़े) तुम्हारा रथ खींचते हैं, फिर तुम क्‍यों सफेद और दुबले हुए जाते हो?

ācchādayasi prāvārān aśnāsi piśitāudanam | ājāneyā vahanty aśvāḥ kenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ ||

നീ ഉത്തമ വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ ധരിക്കുന്നു, മാംസവും അന്നവും ചേർന്ന സമൃദ്ധമായ ആഹാരം കഴിക്കുന്നു, ആജാനേയ അശ്വങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ രഥം വഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്നിട്ടും നീ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ഇങ്ങനെ വെളുത്തും ക്ഷീണിച്ചും കൃശനായി മാറുന്നു?
